What advice would I give to a future intern? That’s a big question. I wouldn't really give an exact skill or saying something obvious like have good communication. I’d want to tell people to get real with themselves during internship. Like dude college is a year and a half away and applications are next semester. Believe me I know it sucks but like really get down and figure out what you want to do. What do you like. If you want to apply to a four year, community, the military, or go straight to a full time job. At the end of the day it’s your life and your choice. Don’t try to please anybody else cause we are at the place right now where if we just work to please expectations someone else someone else put on us, we’ll be doing that for the rest of our lives. So how does this apply to internship? Pick something you actually want to do or may want to do. Don't pick it cause it’s easy or expected of you. Pick something you really like or think you like. Also when the teachers say not to worry about it at the beginning of the year that’s a complete and utter lie. If you aren’t worrying about it and trying to get an internship all first semester you won't have an internship you want. So think about it sophomore year too. That’ll only help you get closer to what you want. I got my internship first try because it's where my sister did her internship so I can't give you much advice on that area but just always be looking.
