Books I have finished
InuYasha
|
InuYasha is a manga that I have been reading for many years. I started reading them when I was in 4th grade after I saw one episode from the Anime. The manga is about a girl who falls back in time and meets a half demon half human named InuYasha. The story is pretty much their adventures together and them fighting off bad demons like InuYashas brother and many more. I would rank it a 5 out of 5 if you like action manga.

Fahrenheit 451
Fahrenheit 451 was a book we had to read for class. We read the book in a readers theater form where we were assigned character that we read for that day. The book has been the inspiration for our current project in Humanities. The book follows a man named Guy Montag who lives in the future. In this future firemen burn books and reading is illegal. The story follows him as he slowly revises the kind of world he is living in. As his eyes open his world crumbles around him. I would give this a book a 3.5 because it was hard to understand sometimes and could get kind of boring.

Books I am reading
When My Name Was Keoko
When My Name Was Keoko is about when the Japanese had control over Korea during World War l. The story fallows two people. A brother and a sister. The book starts off when the Japanese took away peoples names. Forcing them to take Japanese names. People were beaten and killed for using Korean names. As the story moves forwards you see all the struggles this family has to go through. I am not done yet but I am less then 20 pages from the end. The whole time I've been overly emotionally invested in the correctors and have had a roller coaster of emotions well reading. I give this book a 4.5 out of 5 if you like these sorts of books.

Wild
Wild was a book that was suggested to me by my teacher Margret. It's a story about a women who has her world falls apart after her mother dies. The rest of her family and her have lots of trouble dealing with the loss of their mother. They all deal with it in different ways. Cheryl ends up destroying her marriage by cheating on her husband and falling into doing drugs. She decides the way to pull her life together is to go and hike The Pacific Crest Trial. The book is a story of everything that happens to her up until the trail and her battle on the trail. I stopped reading this book because it's a little bit above my reading level and it was hard to keep a deep interest in the story because it is so long. I'd probably give this book a 3.5 out of 5.

Books I Want to Read
Eat, Pray, Love
Eat, Pray, Love is a book I don't know much a about but a book I would love to read. I have heard its about a women who ends a relationship she isn't happy with and travels the world. I think she goes to 3 places but she might go to more. This book really intrigues me because I love the idea of getting to travel the world. I also like dependent, strong female leads. (You can probably tell by the books I have been reading.) The only probably with this book is it might be a little bit long for me.

The Secret Garden
The Secret Garden has always been a huge part of my life. As a young kid instead of watching normal little kid movies I watched things like Wale Rider, Spirited Away, Romeo and Juliet, and most importantly The Secret Garden. I fell in love with the idea of a secret garden and how beautiful it looked in the movie. I recently found out it was a book and new I needed to read it, I'm not sure about how long it is or if I'll be able ti finish it but I think I'll try to push through and read it even if I feel it's a little long.

Burn by the Sea
I want to go burn on the side of the sea.
your family
your party
huddled around me.
The wind will blow
my heart around
warm the circle
that is heat bound.
Slowly, stories
will slip from your lips
crawl their way to an ear
with a creative itch.
I hear stories
of angels and travelers
of race cars and princes
of joy and sorrow
of scary old witches.
I see people cower
I see people cry
I see people love
I’ve seen people die.
I want to go burn beside the sea
your family
your party
huddled around me.
